Welcome to the domain of Mia Ortiz, where light doesn’t just propagate—it subscribes. As a Holographic Display Designer, I do not follow trends; I create them. My focus is not technology; it is movement. I make projections happen that transcend the status quo, a middle finger to flat, dull screens.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF LIGHT

Life, like holography, is about angles. Change your angle, and the entire object unfolds before you. I don’t believe in "the real world," I believe in layers. What you see is just the first layer; peel that part back and there’s always another layer! This is why my projections are not seen; they are experienced, they are not visual objects; they are experience models.

I didn’t choose astrophysics; it chose me. When I was 14-years-old, I went to a science museum with my 8th-grade class and the first hologram I saw was a $5, flickering, butterfly. To me, it was magic. The visual moment burned me. Now I am the one with the torch.

THE BOSS LADY MANIFESTO

Confidence is never given. It is taken. Every morning when I arise, I decide to take the day, and I no longer seek anyone's forgiveness. The world does not give you credibility for being shy—it gives it to the one who is sure of themselves. I walk in every room as the hologram they are waiting to see, baby, trust me, I always deliver.

My team calls me "La Reina De Luz" (The Queen of Light). Not because I insist on being called this, I earned it. Leadership is not a title; it is magnitude. When you walk into a room, pull people toward you, and they will follow you anywhere—in, and out, of the future.

THE WORK

I have designed holograms for luxury brands, superstars, and some projects that are secret (at this time). My clients don’t require me to do good work; they just want me to do (and make them look) UNFORGETTABLE. And I will always remember the UNFORGETTABLE.

But it’s not just the glam. It is also about legacy. I am building a world without screens. The next display is not on a screen; it is in the air. And baby, it is living.
